IMHO, the $100 levy is a must if u wanna enjoy a better atmosphere in the Casino... If the levy is waived and entrance is made FOC, imagine all the garang guni men, all the aunties uncles previously gathered at Chinatown/coffeeshop/void decks, etc all went in to enjoy the free drinks and snacks and to see whether anyone got drop chips on the floor or not... U want that kinda situation to happen? Not to mention the pros and cons (prostitutes and conmen) looking for opportunity inside the Casino.. And all the taxi uncles will be in 'danger' as they're the ones who'll always have some cash on hand, and easily succumb to temptation...

Nevertheless, I believe the levy will go down to maybe $50 in future, once the Casino feels that they're not earning enuff... Maybe after the one at MBSands open and there's competition... For the time being, those who really wanna gamble will have to bare with the $100 levy... And I assure u, many Sporeans will not even look at the $100 levy with one eye! The mindset of a avid gambler : Well I just go in and win $200 lor... Haha...

Human is such a predictable lots.
Very simple, majority of gamblers who lose $ will complaint and curse on the $100 levy but those minority who consistently wins will not even blink an eye on the small levy. Those who don't gamble but enter the casino will complaint even more on everything!

Agree.Most pros are non-singaporeans so they don't need tp paid levy at all.

I feel the $100 entrance fee is too much, most Singaporeans don't earn close to that daily.Also with a payment impose people would not want to leave the casino till they lost everything.
For example,a Singaporean that brought 5k to bet.Even if down on his luck,its unlikely that he will stop as it means another $100 payment to enter again.Isn't that encouraging people to keep betting on till they have no money left.

For ur info, the levy timed start from the first entry to 24hrs n then expired.. Regardless of how many entry/re-entry.

IT is NOT RWS or Sands that are charging the $100, they will never wanna do that. It's the Singapore government who is imposing that levy of $100. The operators are just collecting on the Government's behalf.

This is where u guys are wrong... Oh so wrong.... How can u compare our dear kiasu Sporean aunties/uncles with those overseas? U talk abt Genting... U think their poor can afford the ride all the way up to the top of the mountain just for a cup of coffee? Wheareas on our side, pple need only to take MRT and bus can liao.... Better still... Can even walk all the way across man so easy...

So in order to enjoy a good atmosphere in the Casino, there must be some kinda levy..., tho I agreed $100 is a bit steep.... $50 will be just nice heehee...
